Wearing Uniform Headgear

When participating in Scout activities and training events while wearing the uniform, is it necessary to wear the uniform headgear?The uniform headgear is a basic accessory of the uniform. When participating in Scout activities and training events in uniform, Scout members should have the uniform headgear with them and should wear such headgear in accordance with the requirements of the Leaders-in-Charge of the events.

When wearing the uniform, is it necessary to wear the uniform headgear while traveling to and from Scout activities and training venues?If the Leaders-in-Charge of the Scout units have not specified the arrangements for headgear, Scout members should have the uniform headgear with them and may choose whether or not to wear such headgear.
clickable arrowQ3. If participating in activities and training events of other organisations while wearing Scout uniform, is it necessary to wear the uniform headgear?Yes. Scout members should follow the headgear arrangements specified by the organiser during activities and training. However, during travel to and from activity and training venues, Scout members may choose whether or not to wear the uniform headgear.

During Scout activities and training on an open/half-open covered playground, is it necessary to wear the uniform hat?Depending on activity or the training, the Leaders-in-Charge of the Scout units can specify whether Scout members should wear uniform headgear. Generally speaking, regardless of whether the activity is indoors or outdoors, Scout members directly participating in ceremonies (such as flag-raising and flag-lowering) should wear uniform headgear. In the case of special circumstances, the Leaders-in-Charge of the Scout units should flexibly handle arrangements for uniform headgear based on the on-site environment and/or the actual situation of the Scout members.

In situations where the wearing of uniform headgear is not required, if I see the Guest of Honor/Commissioner/Troop Leader is wearing the uniform headgear, must I follow suit?The Leaders-in-Charge of the Scout units should make appropriate arrangements and, in advance, inform the uniform wearing Scout members about the arrangements for uniform headgear during the event.

If Scout members are wearing uniform during Scout activities and training events, or during outdoor or indoor ceremonies or when on duty, such Scout members should wear the uniform headgear. However, the Leaders-in-Charge of the Scout units should flexibly handle the arrangements for uniform headgear during activities and training events. If the uniform accessories are severely incomplete, it is not recommended to wear the headgear, nor is it recommended to wear an incomplete uniform.
